IBC Tools — Industrial Blade Company Inc. — is a Canadian family-owned manufacturer of premium woodworking chisels, founded in 1997. Based in Canada, IBC designs and manufactures bench chisels, mortise chisels, paring chisels, and butt chisels trusted by professional woodworkers, furniture makers, luthiers, and collectors across North America, Europe, and beyond.

What Makes IBC Chisels Different?

Every IBC chisel blade is machined from AISI High Vanadium A2 tool steel — fully stress relieved, triple tempered, and cryogenically treated to a hardness of 60–62 Rc. This engineering process produces a cutting edge that holds longer, sharpens faster, and performs more consistently than standard tool steel alternatives.

IBC's patented handle design solves the oldest problem in chisel engineering: combining the precision and lightweight control of a tang chisel with the striking durability of a socket chisel — in a single, elegantly unified instrument. The result is a tool precise enough for fine detail work and strong enough to be struck with a mallet without loosening the handle or damaging the wood.
