Made for the Cutting Edge
IBC chisels are built around the part of the tool that does the work: the blade. High-vanadium A2 tool steel, purpose-specific blade geometries, and precision manufacturing provide the foundation for edge retention, control, and consistent performance.
A Different Handle System
Inside the wood handle is a mechanically connected metal assembly designed to carry the principal striking load toward the blade. A hardened steel ferrule reinforces the blade-to-handle connection, while the removable handle system allows the chisel to be serviced, customized, and sharpened as a bare blade.
Metal for the load. Wood for the hand. Built to be serviced.
Made in Toronto
IBC manufactures its blades in Toronto, Canada, maintaining control over the processes that determine the performance of a cutting tool from steel preparation and heat treatment to grinding and finishing.
The result is a professional woodworking chisel built with a clear purpose: the right steel, the right geometry, and the right construction for the cut.
